1. Just Because You Have Been Arrested Doesn't Mean You Are Charged
It is important to realize that just because you were arrested doesn't actually mean that you have been charged yet. What happens is that you are taken to a holding cell. Some people think that they won't post bail because the time that they spend in prison will just go towards the sentence if they are found guilty. However, in the majority of cases this thinking is flawed and you should generally post bail. This is because the time that you spend out of jail waiting for your trial can help to prove your character and good behavior, it will only work to your advantage. Additionally, if you aren't found guilty, you will have spend all this time in jail without having needing to. This is why it is best to post bail if given the option.
